When I first heard of it, I enrolled just for fun although I
knew I won’t even get into physical test. After a while, final candidates are
announced and fast forward a year later they are off to outer space. For me it
was, “Oh great. Whatever.” I didn’t give much a damn until recently. This whole
issue started to get on my nerves.

Firstly, media and politicians couldn’t stop blabbering this
s*it. 24/7 they were celebrating like Malaysia had finally brought peace to the whole world. Simply irritating when I glimpsed
at news and special ‘moments’ of politicians conversing with Sheikh Muszaphar (‘adoringly’
I nicknamed him Shemus). I thought they would ask those so-called scientific
experiments. But NO, they ask: did you give other astronauts our space-prepared
Malaysian food? What the f*ck? Other news bears nothing much about progress of
these experiments. They talked more of bringing food and batik to space. Aiyo! Is
this for the sake of science or wasting people’s money for micro-gravity picnic?

Shemus doesn’t differ much from that Muslim woman space
tourist. All you have to do is spend about USD20 million and you can get your
ass off into space. For the Iranian, she used her OWN money but Shemus used OUR
money which made a HUGE difference. From my point of view, those scientific
experiments were nothing but to cover Malaysian’s politicians’ stupidity and
ego. It is more embarrassing they bragged it proudly when actually the Russians
and NASA branded Shemus as a SPACE TOURIST. Means, he’s just another payload to
Soyuz and ISS.

I don’t know the first 3 experiments but for demonstrating
spinning motion using a top, it’s all rubbish. Just take a space mechanic
textbook and read on the topic. Besides, for 10 days in space how can he
conduct 6 experiments? Not to mention wasted time talking to the egomaniac
politicians and fans. Those researches will not be reliable because of
insufficient time. In other words, I sensed ‘kerja cincai’ up there.

Shemus is no more than an eye candy. He’s not even an engineer!

I don’t give a s*it on whatever the news reported. Be it
inspirational to kids (only and perhaps some idiots), carving a history to
50-years of independence, part of Badawi’s deal to buy Sukhoi, scientific
breakthrough, achievement for Malay Muslims etc it’s all just plain silly activity
done by ignorant and airhead ministers. I would be more proud if:

• Malaysia got rid of excessive immigrants once and for all
• Successfully combating unemployment among graduates and ex drug addict
• No poverty among people
• Developing high technology until on par with Japan or at least China
      
• 99% of Malaysian Aerospace graduates got jobs in the right field
